Professor Stephens was my site evaluator for my OBGYN rotation. During the evaluation, I presented a patient, provided an article related to the case and reviewed my pharm cards. after my initial presentation, we engaged in further discussions about my patients, especially in regard to the balance of aggressive vs. conservative treatment. Specifically, we discussed when it would be appropriate to take a patient with possible postmenopausal bleeding to the OR to get the endometrial biopsy rather than the more conservative option, which was to have the return in six months for a follow up ultrasound. Professor Stephens is very clear regarding her requirements for H&Ps which allowed me to know exactly what she was looking for when I presented my patient. Although I am only one rotation away from graduation, there are still so many things for me to work on and learn regarding patient care and documentation. This being said, I am still amazed at the progress I have seen in my own knowledge and documentation over the past couple of months.
