Site Evaluation Summary

During both of my site evaluations with Dr. Davidson, I presented a patient via H&P, and we reviewed my pharm cards. During the second site visit, we also examined an article related to the patient I presented. One of the major concerns with the elderly, is fall risk. I presented a patient whom I examined status post fall. We later found out that this patient fractured his neck as a result of the fall. The article I presented discussed the many tools available to assess fall risk, and the best combination of tools to use to attain the highest sensitivity and specificity. This led to a conversation regarding different risk for falling, as well as ways to minimize the number of falls. Dr. Davidson provided valuable critique after my first H&P, which I implemented in my second presentation. After both of the site evaluations, I believe that the quality of my H&Ps has improved, and well as my critical thinking in regard to the care of geriatric patients, and how it differs from the general population.
